Andrzej Bałandynowicz full professor AM

Professor of legal sciences in criminology, penology, penitentiary science, specialist in sociology of law, philosophy of law, re-socialisation pedagogy, penitentiary science. Author of numerous scientific publications. Creator of the theory of multiband re-socialisation with the participation of society and the theory of inclusive social readaptation, which constitute the axiological basis of the criminal policy of the state of law.
His scientific interests include the study of social phenomena in criminology, penology, penitentiary science, sociology of law and philosophy of law, as well as pedagogical sciences. He is the author of the modern theory of imprisonment, humanised retaliation and the probation system. He is the author of the theory of adaptation to freedom – a multiband theory of socially mediated rehabilitation. On the basis of many years of longitudinal research on recidivists, he built a system of just punishment supported by medium-power punishments and supervised liberty measures.
