Dr Michał Sopiński is a graduate of the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Warsaw, of French philology within the framework of Interdepartmental Individual Studies in the Humanities at the University of Warsaw and of the University of Poitiers (France) in the field of European commercial law (Droit français et européen des affaires), within which he obtained the Master 2 title, which is the equivalent of the Polish Master’s degree. Multiple scholarship holder of the Minister of Science and Higher Education and the Rector of the University of Warsaw for scientific achievements. Winner of the Diamond Grant for outstanding young scientists awarded by the Minister of Science and Higher Education in 2016. Doctoral dissertation entitled. ‘Solidarist vision of law and the state in the thought of Léon Duguit’, written under the supervision of Tomasz Stawecki, Ph.D., Prof. UW, and defended at the University of Warsaw in 2022. The Council of the Legal Sciences Discipline of the UW conferred on him the degree of Doctor of Laws with distinction by resolution of 23 May 2022. He is an expert in public law and the author of several publications and scientific studies, including three original monographs. His main areas of research interest are philosophy and theory of law, axiology of law, political-legal doctrines and history of law. In his free time, he pursues his sporting passions (running and mountain hiking), not forgetting that the best time spent – is the one with a book in hand. He can also sometimes be found at a football stadium.
