Director of the Institute of Security Sciences of the Academy of Justice (2012 – 2018 – director of the Institute of State Security of the National Defence University of Warsaw/the War Studies University).
A graduate of Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, Armoured Forces Officers School, Postgraduate Pedagogy Studies, language course (English), full-time Doctoral Studies at the National Defence University of Warsaw (distinguished by the Rector of the National Defence University in a competition for the best doctoral dissertation) and postgraduate Master of Business Administration (MBA) studies. In addition, he has completed numerous courses and trainings on the issue of security. Professor of social sciences in the discipline of security sciences.
Author and co-author of nearly 200 scientific studies: books, articles, reviews and expert opinions, including 18 research projects. Project manager of 4 research projects funded as part of national and international competitions. He has prepared dozens of expert opinions and other studies commissioned by public institutions and private enterprises. Associated with a number of security institutions. Participated in the development of strategic documents, e.g. by taking part in the works of the Problem-Solving Team – Non-military defence preparations of the Republic of Poland within the framework of the Strategic Defence Review, as well as teams working on generating organisational and functional solutions for the cooperation of the Ministry of Defence with non-governmental and pro-defence organisations, as well as concepts for organisational and functional solutions of the Polish National Reserve Forces He has repeatedly participated in expert and competition teams. He cooperates with numerous academic centres and think-tanks both in Poland and abroad, and participates, i.a., in the work of the Academic Consortium for Strategic Studies. Reviewer for numerous scientific journals, monographs, and international projects. Member of journal editorial committees and scientific councils
He has completed four academic internships, including two abroad. Active participant in the Erasmus plus programme, a number of scientific conferences organised by academic centres both in Poland and abroad. Member of scientific associations, i.a.: Polish Evaluation Society, Polish Society for Security Studies, Polish Association of Appraisers and Expert Witnesses, Association of Military Historians and the Database of Scientists of Uniformed Services.
Participant of decision-making games analysing crisis situations, organised, i.a., by the National Defence University of Warsaw/the War Studies University, the Academy of Justice, as well as the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways. Since 2012, conducts classes as part of Higher National Defence Courses, as well as defence training for representatives of state administration, local government and inspections, services as well as entrepreneurs He was a juror for several years.
He has been very active in the area of staff promotion, which has resulted in the promotion of 5 PhDs, the opening of 3 further doctoral theses and the reviewing of 20 dissertations and scientific achievements for habilitation. Supervisor of several dozen master’s, bachelor’s and post-graduate theses (at several universities).
His research interests include the issues of internal security, the national security management subsystem, the functioning of a social security base, the axiological dimension of structural and personal security, as well as experiences resulting from the conducted process of defence preparations.
