Agnieszka Nowogrodzka MA

Psychologist specialising in clinical psychology. She has an open doctoral thesis at the Institute of Psychology of the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. Her research addresses the issue of social cognition in juveniles serving a prison sentence. She completed postgraduate studies in psychological diagnosis and pedagogy. She has gained psychotherapeutic qualifications in the cognitive-behavioural stream. In recent years, she has been particularly concerned both practically and scientifically with the effectiveness and application of techniques associated with the third wave of the cognitive-behavioural stream. She has received additional training in this area including ISST approved training module, Introduction to the Compassion Approach, Use of ACT in depression.

She has been a Prison Service officer since 2012. Initially she worked as a psychologist at the Detention Centre in Poznań dealing mainly with the diagnosis of convicted persons. Since 2019 she has been an assistant at the School of Criminology and Penitentiary Science in Warsaw and currently the Academy of Justice.

She is the author of about thirty scientific publications and a participant in many scientific conferences. Her research interests focus on neuropsychological disorders, personality disorders and maladaptive emotional patterns as well as the possibilities of changing them through psychotherapeutic interventions.
