Jakub Werbiński MA

Major Jakub Werbiński – holds a master’s degree in pedagogy and obtained his professional title at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. He is also a graduate of the University of Business in Wrocław in postgraduate studies in the field of career counsellor on the European labour market. He graduated from the War Studies University – Faculty of National Security, Defence Course in the field of defence preparations in public administration and enterprises.

Since 2003 he has been a Prison Service officer – he started his service in the Penitentiary Institution in Sieradz performing penitentiary and protective tasks. Since 2013 he has been involved in the training of Prison Service officers in the field of security – initially at the Central Prison Service Training Centre in Kalisz – Department of Security Training, currently at the Academy of Justice – Institute of Security Sciences, Department of Protection and Defence of Organisational Units of the Prison Service. He is the author of didactic materials, co-author of safety training programmes, and has taken part in many training and scientific projects, including international ones. In addition, he completed a number of courses related to, among others, the training of prison staff.

In addition to conducting teaching classes related to the security of penitentiary units, he is a researcher. Representing the Department of Protection and Defence of Organisational Units of the Prison Service, he functions in the area of prison security. He has recently conducted research on information as an important factor affecting the security of prisons and remand centres.
